Guacamelee 2 Slams Onto PS4 and Steam in August

August is a great time to be a wrestling fan. Summerslam will see Brock Lesnar defend his WWE Universal Championship, NXT Takeover the night before will likely see the latest chapter in the ongoing blood feud between Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, and New Japan Pro Wrestling fans will get to see the culmination of this year's G1 Climax. As for the average video gamer, they'll get to embrace full wrestling fever themselves by refamiliarizing themselves with the world's greatest luchador.

Guacamelee 2

Guacamelee 2 now has a release date. While last year's Paris Games Week reveal heavily hinted that it would hit PlayStation 4 first, it turns out that it will simultaneously release on both PS4 and Steam on the same day.

Guacamelee 2 sees Juan Aguacate come out retirement years after the events of the first game to face an entirely new threat. To save time, space, and the entire Mexiverse, Juan must explore a new world either alone or as part of a four-player co-op team. As observed back in our PlayStation Experience hands-on, players can learn new moves as both a human and a chicken, including the Eagle Boost, Rocket Kick, and Pollo Shot. The folks at Drinkbox are also touting a new soundtrack from the original Guacamelee composers, but also pointing to a few new tracks from our old friends, the Mariachi Entertainment System.

Guacamelee 2 steps through the ropes on August 21 on both PlayStation 4 and PC.
