No Man's Sky is about to welcome its biggest update yet on July 24, and that means the company is hard at work reminding us of the changes it's already made in the past. With the NEXT update coming in a week or so, we've got to look back on and appreciate what the game has already accomplished, after launching with somewhat shaky legs. That's why this video is a pretty cool endeavor, reminding us of how far the game has already come.
The video guides us through some of the bullet points, including "stargazes" that let players quick travel to any planet, additional missions and story options, tighter space combat, and new game modes like Creative, Survival, and Permadeath. All of these things and more have been slotted into the game since its somewhat disappointing debut (and an even more disappointing special edition), and it's grown significantly since then.
No Man's Sky is a science fiction space adventure that puts players in the middle of a universe teeming with possibilities. It's procedurally-generated, with tons of different planets and creations that you can discover, then claim them as your own -- you'll be listed as the one who discovered it, in fact. Your goal is to reach the center of the universe, though there's much more to it than that as you fight off hostile creatures and pirates, gathering materials and checking out all the universe has to offer.
The game's currently available on PlayStation 4 and PC, with its Xbox One launch scheduled for July 24.
