Ever wanted to jump into your own episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but the fact that it's been off the air for years is keeping you from doing so? You need a healthy dose of Star Trek: Bridge Crew's The Next Generation expansion, which is available today on PC and certain VR players with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality support. It's up for grabs for $14.99, and you can live out all your favorite TNG dreams with it.
Players will be able to take on the Galaxy Class starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, and feel like they're part of the show with this awesome piece of DLC. It includes two new modes for Ongoing Voyages in the form of Patrol and Resistance. Patrol mode lets players travel through space with random battles and objectives. Resistance finds players teaming up for a showdown against the Borg cube, which is a sentence you may never have thought you'd read in 2018.
There's also the new Operations command role, with an officer given the task of wrangling NPC officers and assigning them to various stations, then activating features like Shield Modulation, Precision Targeting, and more. If it sounds like a blast and something you need to try out right now, make it a point to hop in the captain's chair and crew up. We know we're planning to do so at Shacknews. Who's going to be our Number One? Uh, obviously me, of course.
