No Man's Sky Next has players massively interested in the ambitious open world space exploration game, and as such people are flocking to download a copy of the game if they passed on it during its debut. One such retailer, however, is selling a copy that's causing a bit of a stink throughout the community.
The GOG version of No Man's Sky, which comes sold without DRM, does not currently include multiplayer content. What it does include is the single-player content introduced in the Next update, such as expanded base building, player customization, third-person mode, better graphics, and more. However, the multiplayer sections just aren't ready yet, and won't be releasing until later this year at some point.
"For a small, independent studio, developing the feature across multiple platforms is a hugely ambitious and technical challenge which resulted in this delayed release," explained GOG in a recent blog post. "Hello Games is however joining forces with GOG.COM to introduce full multiplayer via the GOG Galaxy platform."
So if you're looking to pick up a copy of No Man's Sky via the retailer and you want it DRM-free, you may be waiting a little while, as unfortunately there's no current release date in sight for when the mode will be added to GOG's version of the game. In the meantime, it's available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam as well.
